The Tanto blade is made of the fantastic CPM M4 steel, which is a tool steel and is known for its exceptional hardness and sharpness retention, making M4 an excellent choice for daily carrying. The edge is razor-sharp and has a pronounced point, allowing this knife to be used with surprising precision. The edge is also semi-serrated, making this knife ideal for heavier tasks such as cutting through fiber-containing material. Furthermore, the blade is finished in a cobalt black Ceracoat coating. This coating not only gives the blade a unique look, but also excellent reflection reduction. The Bailout has a so-called AXIS® lock, which is a manual sliding mechanism that locks the blade.
